| Copper bar, rods or rivets were used from around 1784
for fastening major timbers on British warships in order
to prevent damage and loss through corrosion. A quantity
of these were removed from HMS VICTORY during her refurbishment
and are now offered to collectors. They vary in diameter
and length and have been cleaned to remove lose dirt
and then polished with wax to make them clean to handle.
Each one is engraved with the words “HMS VICTORY”
and give a unique reference number that is also shown
on the Certificate of Provenance accompanying it.
Prices start at £50 and rise by size and weight.
Carriage is extra. If you would like to own one of
these please contact us so that we can discuss the
sizes and prices of the pieces available. Click “Copper
Rivet” in the drop-down menu on the registration
page. |
